Colorado Springs project
The final sections of the Foothills Trail near Gateway Road, the eastern entrance to Garden of the Gods, were recently paved as part of the 30th Street Corridor Project. Depending on weather and material availability, the trail and underpass are anticipated to open around Friday, Aug. 5.
Construction activities will continue near the trail and crews may need to temporarily adjust trail access to complete work.
A section of northbound 30th Street between Gateway Road and the south access to the Visitor & Nature Center is open. Drivers may now exit that parking lot from either driveway to head north on 30th Street.
Through early summer 2023, 30th Street is closed in both directions between Gateway Road and Fontanero Street. Access to Garden of the Gods Park, including the visitor center, will be maintained from Garden of the Gods Road.
The detour directs all traffic to use Centennial Boulevard. Visitor center traffic can enter 30th Street from Garden of the Gods Road.
