Manitou Springs Police officers responded to a vehicle-versus-deer accident near mile marker 299 on westbound U.S. Highway 24. The driver was not injured.

Nov. 22

Manitou officers contacted a person wanted on a local misdemeanor warrant in the 00 block of El Paso Boulevard. They issued a personal recognizance bond warrant.

A business in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue reported an attempted burglary. An investigation was initiated.

Officers responded to a non-injury traffic accident in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue. Both vehicles were still operational.

Nov. 23

MSPD stopped a vehicle in the 2500 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was arrested on felony warrants from the Department of Corrections.

Nov. 24

Officers stopped a vehicle in the 3500 block of West Colorado Avenue. The driver was found to have a local misdemeanor warrant; he was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

Nov. 25

At 0420 hours, MSPD responded to a disturbance near the intersection of El Paso Boulevard and Via Maria Theresia. A suspect set a couch on fire, injuring a child. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of arson, cruelty toward a child and harassment, and was transported to CJC.

The driver of a red BMW drove away from the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue when officers attempted to stop the vehicle for not having its headlights on.

MSPD served a local misdemeanor warrant at 26th Street and West Vermijo Avenue.

Manitou officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Ridge Road and West Pikes Peak Avenue. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was cited for DUI and released.

Nov. 26

MSPD was dispatched to a disturbance in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue. When officers arrived, they contacted two men. The officers investigated and took one man into custody on suspicion of simple assault.

Officers responded to a report of a homeless person sleeping in a backyard in the 500 block of Cañon Avenue. They contacted the person, removed them from the property and took the person to a nearby homeless shelter.

A protective order violation was reported in the 200 block of Elk Path.

Nov. 27

At 0930 hours, an MSPD officer contacted a local misdemeanor suspect in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. The person was arrested and taken to CJC.

Officers responded to a domestic violence in progress in the 00 block of Ruxton Avenue at 2003 hours. After an investigation, a man was taken into custody and booked into CJC.
